I don't care which sedan has the highest top speed.

Kinja'd!!!

Let's talk about which sedans have the best power to weight ratio.

But not just any sedans...since we love sedans that are nimble on their feet, let's keep the weight under 4000lbs , and to keep things affordable let's keep the price (msrp if new, market value if used) under $40k .

Starting with the obvious...

C63 AMG P31: 3992 lbs / 481hp = 8.3 lbs/hp

E90 M3: 3680 lbs / 414hp = 8.89 lbs/hp

IS-F: 3839 lbs / 416hp = 9.23 lbs/hp

So, Oppo, what are quickest, (relatively) light, (relatively) affordable sedans out there?

Only one of the above can be had with a manual. Just sayin...

I choose to ignore your weight restirctions.

Charger SRT Hellcat: 4560 lbs / 707hp = 6.45 lb/hp

I'm trying to make this interesting...which is why I imposed a weight AND price restriction.

Otherwise this would be a very predictable and obvious list.

What's wrong with keeping the list down to - as I said above - relatively light and accessible cars?

If you're not interested, don't participate.

It may not be "the quickest" or "the lightest", but it's the one I'd go for.

It has 8.66 lbs/hp.

Don't know what market value is, but the Pontiac G8 made 415 hp and weighed 4050lb, so about 9.76 lb/hp. Not bad....

Edit: Found them for less than 40k on cars.com! Not surprisingly

Not light weight...but my daily driver....

G8 GXP: 3946 lbs /415hp = 9.5 lbs/hp

After mods I've got 370 WHP though. So quite a bit faster now :-)

I think they're a bit over 4000 lbs, and so barely missed the cutoff.

First thing I would do is replace the factory (and problematic) DRC suspension with an Ohlins MS setup...which will also shave quite a bit of weight.

8 pots, five speeds, four wheel drives, three pedals, less than two tons. Most Jalop truck ever.

This is actually a bit difficult, but with the Caddy you could probably do a few things and lose the 222 pounds - the CTS-V is 4222lbs/556hp =7.59lbs/hp

Add on an undersized supercharger pulley and you're looking at 435bhp and 8.44lbs/hp. Not small, but very light :)
